Who are the Mauritians? (People of Mauritius)

We learn about Mauritius’s diverse population, whose ancestors came from India, France, Great Britain, Madagascar, and China, and explore how different religions and cultures coexist there. We visit a local distillery and discuss cultural influences such as driving on the left, Indian spices, and the French-based Creole language. We also sample Mauritian street food, including dishes influenced by India, China, and East Africa.
