Would You Ride This Russian Train?

We explore Moscow’s railway stations and board a train from Kazansky Vokzal to Saransk, discussing the many long-distance destinations available across Russia. We eat noodles from the train samovar, speak with a passenger about life and nationalities in the former Soviet Union, and endure the eight-hour journey into Mordovia. We arrive in Saransk at midnight, find our monastery hostel, and inspect the inexpensive room and its facilities.
